I am a certified massage therapist who has been in practice for over 15 years. I am especially delighted to be working with an integrative practice such as Insight for Wellness Center where I can work with IWC to offer CBD oil massage. CBD or cannabidiol, comes from the cannabis sativa plant and is gaining the attention of the medical community because of its astounding abilities to relieve pain, inflammation, as well as reduce anxiety. I believe massage is miraculous and can work wonders on many different levels-physical, spiritual, and emotional. It gives me great joy in being able to combine the healing aspects of touch through therapeutic massage with the healing properties of CBD oil. The CBD oil is combined with hemp oil, camphor, arnica, and lavender, a private aromatic blend created by ICW.

The approach I take to bodywork is heart-centered, yet informed by skill and expertise. Every massage is individualized to meet the needs of my client. Most important and central to my work are love and presence. I believe that only through love and presence can healing at the deepest level be facilitated.

I seek to create a space of comfort and care where well-being and wholeness can be restored.

Many of my clients have medical challenges which include Alzheimer's, Lewy Body Dementia, Parkinson's, Osteoporosis, anxiety, and depression.

In addition to the many physical benefits of massage, such as the relief of sore, stiff muscles and increased joint flexibility, my goal is to touch the heart and spirit, and to facilitate a feeling of connection so that each person feels seen, heard, and cared for. My hope is to bring more peace and brightness into each life I touch. By using CBD oil in my massage, my hope too, is to be able to relieve much of the physical pain and anxiety, so that my clients can live as pain free as possible, thereby enabling them to live at their optimum.

In Social Intelligence, Daniel Goldman writes:

"Skin-on-skin touch is particularly soothing because it primes oxytocin . . . When oxytocin releases, the body undergoes a host of healthy changes. Blood pressure lowers as we slide into the relaxed mode of parasympathetic activity. That shifts metabolism from the ready-to-run large muscle boost of stress arousal to a restorative mode where energy goes into storing nutrients, growth, and healing . . . Our pain threshold rises, so that we are less sensitive to discomforts. Even wounds heal faster." (p. 243)
